I was wondering how or if I can add video backgrounds and then add text on top of it. I do have Web Video player, so I figured I would have to convert my file, but can you layer text over that? Here is a link to the type of backgrounds I want to use: http://www.faithclipart.com/video/winte … round.html (I didn't know if that would help or not) So basically, I want to add the video background somewhere on my page and then add text to it. Can I do that? OR can add the video background to Firestarter and then add text?? I have played around with these softwares and haven't been able to figure it out, so I kind of figure that the answer is no, BUT it never hurts to ask. Thanks :)

It can be done and would be easy if the video was converted to a looping .swf animation. An flv, mpeg, mov, or wmv video file will not do as these require additional players.

You mean it would work in Firestarter right Cary? It wouldn't work in VSD I don't think because it only supports standard image files as background images (jpg, gif, png, ect)... I wonder if you could set an animated gif as a background?

You would insert the .swf directly into VSD using Add Files, the html tool and the necessary flash object embedding code. Then it would be an element in the page which can be placed behind all the other elements on the page, or just behind a block of text. Depends on what's needed. I haven't use Firestarter, so I'm not familiar with its capabilities, but something would need to be used to convert the movie to a looping swf animation. There may be free online tools for this.
