Hi Bruzer, the new folder is sockburning gallery_htm_files. The new file is sockburninggallery.htm.
I uploaded both in direct ftp. then i went to vsd and used the html tool and added the following: <iframe src="sockburninggallery.htm" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
added the folder and file in settings/add files, then saved and then previewed. what came up was squares with red x's in the corners. the text about clicking on the pictures to enlarge was there, but, no pictures. I think i'm getting closer. before this all i got was that ie could not display. guess i'm missing something.
should i upload vsd to the web and will the pictures show then? in the preview the boxes were here and there and some on top of each other. Thanks.

H Sarah,
My suggestion is remove the folder (sockburning gallery_htm_files) and leave the code as you have it,(iframe code)......with the remove files or open the the sockburning.htm file in notepad or html editor and copy the code into the VSD page you wish to have the gallery on and not delete the files folder.
I'm going to ask a dumb question cause I don't know if you know this so please take no offense. when you added the folder did you also open it and add the images as well? is the folder empty?
Any of the 2 options above should correct your gallery.

Just a little confused. I should remove the folder from the code? or from the server?
copy the code into the html tool in vsd from sockburning.htm file?
no, i didn't open the folder and add the files. there should be pictures in the folder. should i open the folder and add the pictures to the server in direct ftp?
Of course i wouldn't take offense at anything you say. I basically have no idea what i'm doing. If this works out i will be so happy, and i think i will never try to do anything that involves code ever again.
Without your help i would just wait for vsd 6 to come out so the png files would not be a problem.

Hi,
you stated you added the sockburning_htm_files folder into VSD using the add file option correct? Ok -if you wish to use the iframe code, then you should remove that folder from VSD by going to settings>remove files, sense the folder is already on your server. the other option is if you wish to leave the folder in VSD, then you need to copy the code off the "sockburning_htm" and paste that to the page you wish the gallery to be on using the html tool.
did I explain this correctly?

ok, i removed the folder from the iframe code and from the settings, from remove files, and tried again with the html tool. still get the squares with the red x's. i went to notepad and tried to open the sockburninggallery.htm and it was not there in the folders/files. nowhere. when i open it in windows explorer it is an html file that opens like a web page with the pictures and they are clickable, just like i wish they would be on my site. And when i opened the folder sockburninggallery_htm_files in notepad, there was nothing there. so, here we are, back to square one and i'm about ready to give up and just put the jpeg of the gallery on the webpage and forget the clickable to larger pictures. You have been so good to take your time and imagination to help me. i do appreciate it so very much. Thank you.
Sarah your welcome, Let me make a visual on how you add it to VSD, if you don't get it this time well I have failed you. but don't give up.
when you made your gallery in web designer, it made a folder named whatever you named it and an htm file. what you should have done was upload those to your server. now at this time you have the sockburning_htm_files folder on your server. what you need to do now is add the iframe code into the page in VSD just as you have it shown above, add it using the html tool. now upload your VSD and then go online and you should see it. you won't see it in preview because we are not adding it to VSD.
Does this make sense?

Hm, very interesting. Also, when i went into direct ftp just now, i highlighted sockburninggallery.htm and saw the code below. i highlighted that and it said see webpage and again there were the boxes with the red x's. is there some problem with the htm file? ok, i'll go upload vsd to the server and see what happens. Please don't feel you have failed me,. it is i who have let you down by being so dense. maybe if i put it in my dreams tonight i can figure it out. i do my best thinking when i'm asleep. will upload to server and get back to you. thanks. was i supposed to upload the htm file in direct ftp? i did that after i uploaded the folder.
OK and in the meantime I'll make that tutorial for you and post it here for you to see..

Look, look!!! It worked! The page is not finished, but, IT WORKED!!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH. Now when i add the next pictures, there are about 15 more pictures i think, i guess i make the gallery in xara, save it , i mean export it again as a new html file, folder and do the same thing again???
