Adding photo gallery from xara to...

I just made a photogallery with pop-up photos with xara web designer and want to add it to a website I created with VSD. Is there any way to do this? I don't know any html but have had fun with VSD. I tried saving the xara gallery as html, but can't find an xml file. Is it possible to either upload it to the server and then link to it, or to embed it into a page of VSD? or something else? Thanks for any help anyone may have. Sorry I am so uneducated in these matters. I am, however, learning new things every day. Sarah

Hi Sara,
Sara if you have saved your project and it produced an html page, then you should be able to copy the code fromthe html page and paste it into VSD using the html tool. However you will need to use the "add files" to add all the nessesary images into VSD as well.
You know I just bought that today lol

Thanks Bruzer, I will try to find the code and do that. It is fun playing with the program. I just need to learn how to use it.

I found the html page, copied the source (view source) and used the html tool to add it to vsd and then added it to the "add files". However, what showed up were boxes with little red x's in them. The text that was on the page was there. I noticed that there were png files included that were the white background for the pictures. Could that be causing the problem, since vsd does not accept png files? Thanks

Hi sarah, yes that seems to be the problem.....I believe if you click on the jpg tab in the upper right where jpg/png you can convert them in the program, I'm not quite sure yet..:) It says you can export as...jpg or png

ok, i'll try that. the help people at xara suggested an iframe, but i have never tried that and am leary of the need for html stuff. and maybe the png would affect that also. I am playing with a different web site in vsd that i have not uploaded to a server yet because i don't want to mess up the church website before i figure out what i'm doing. Lots of fun, eh? thanks for your help.

Yes, I exported as jpg and saved it in the file. opened the (fake) website and used the picture tool and there was the beautiful photo gallery, but, of course, there is no pop-up for the larger photos. When I created the gallery it made a png.js file and a roe.js file. don't know what they are. At any rate, i'll keep trying. Maybe when vsd 6 comes out this will work. Hope 6 comes out SOON!

Hi Sarah,
Iframe doesn't seem like a bad idea, it could work and all you would have to do is just have the files on your server. I'd like to see your gallery.:)

Hi, Don't know how to do an iframe, but i have instructions, so i'll read them and see what i can do. think i'll get a practice site on 1and1 to play with. The gallery will have 3 pages when it's done, but right now i only have 1 page. i have attached the jpg of the gallery (at least i think i have) maybe. Simple, but, they had a sock burning ceremony to celebrate the vernal equinox and the official start of the sailing season. They were honoring Neptune, the Roman god of the Sea and Poseidon, the Greek god of the Sea in the hope for a beautiful Spring and a smooth sailing season.

Hi Sarah,
I did a quick make and if you copy the source code you could use that, just fill in the html name.
(see below)
