I am looking for something that would allow anyone that comes to our site to upload their video to our site for, say a contest. Does anyone know of anything that would do this? If I understand the coffecup products correctly, they have one that helps with uploading your own video to your site and they have one that helps with recording videos. We are looking for something that helps other people upload their video to our site...even if its just the file. Playback would be a bonus. Any suggestions ???

If you're just wanting them to be able to upload them to you, and you put them 'live' on the site, then you could just use CC Formbuilder and include a file upload option. I don't know of a way to allow them to automatically be playable.

I have found various uses for forum software that are outside the box.
Set up a Simple Machines Forum with user permissions. Set up your catagories and topics. Allow the users to post whatever comments and file types you choose from the SM offering. Simple Machines does all the registration work, database work, security work and display work.

You can divide your contest into categories etc.

You might checkout the Simple Machines forum and ask a few questions. Simple Machines can be installed easily through some host's Cpanel.

I tested a set-up for lost and found animals and it worked beautifully. It is even searchable.
