Text Fading - Page 1

I want to add a short line of text over an existing static picture. The text will fade in then remain then fade out to another line of text. Any ideas?

I tried Firestarter but ran into two problems. Fade in & Fade out can't happen on a single text line, lining up all the text so they reappear in the same spot is very tricky.

I've got 9 different lines of text that I want to cycle through over a single picture.

Thanks!

Hi Kevin,

Can you please post a screenshot or a link to the problem so that we may take a better look?

I wish I could post the problem. But the problem is I don't know where to begin to create effect. I know what I want but I can't determine the tool to create it.

I'll try again to describe what I want to do:

I've got a picture on a webpage I'm making in VSD.
I want to have lines of small text appear over the picture in the lower right half of the picture.

I know how to do one like of static text. But what I want is to have that text fade in, then out with another line of text fade in/out, and so on.

Hi Kevin,

My apologies. I misunderstood your question.

I'm currently testing what it sounds like you are trying to achieve and my only solution so far is to change to color of specific words/letters that you want to fade out so that they fade out into another color. Doing that will cause the illusion that the text is fading in and out.

There doesn't appear to be a simply effect for fading text in/out.

Sincerely,

Monica

Thanks for your assistance.

I've wanted to fade text on a number of sites I've designed but always give up.

If anyone can help, please let me know.
