Site not showing correct in FF or opera
Hi,
I am starting to design a site. The Navigation shows up fine in IE, but not in FF or opera.
The css and html both show the correct color, but its not going the length of the row in FF or opera.
Can somebody please help?
go to

In your css file, look at:
Line 9 body Property behavior doesn't exist : url("csshover2.htc")
remove that and it should work fine

Behavior does exist, but it's just not standard. It's proprietary to IE. Other browsers simply ignore it.
The csshover2.htc is actually required by IE6. It's javascript which give IE6 the ability to understand things like li:hover, since IE6 normally only understands hover when it's used on anchors (a:hover). So this .htc file allows pure css drop-down menus to work with IE6.

none of the other pages has it in their style sheet.

Before I get to the css, there's a mistake in your html which needs to be fixed.
Check out this section of code at the end or your menu:
</li>
<li class="li_nc"><a href="#" >Members Only</a></li>
</ul>
</tr>
<tr bgcolor="#ffffff">
<li class="li_nc"><a href="#" >Members Only</a></li>
</ul>
</tr>
<tr bgcolor="#ffffff">
Notice the missing </td> after </ul> and before </tr>?
Add that in to fix a strange positioning problem in IE 6.
Now for the css. You have this piece of code:
.mainmenu{
float: left;
width: 100%;
padding: 0;
}
float: left;
width: 100%;
padding: 0;
}
You are trying to apply this to a cell which shouldn't be possible to float, so other browsers are doing the best they can. The width also isn't necessary as the cell can't be 100%, but it will be as wide as necessary to make up the remainder of the table's width minus the 15px being used by the cell next to it.
So, just use this styling:
.mainmenu{
padding: 0;
}
padding: 0;
}
One other thing. You have some top and bottom 1px transparent borders on your menu which aren't showing up in other browser, but they do show up in IE 6.

Do any of them have pure css drop-down menus?
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
