Pages Seem to Flicker or Flash When...
Hello All,
I have 2 issues actually. The first is the pages seem to flicker or flash when loading, but only in IE 8 and Google Chrome 8, the other browsers look okay.
The second issue concerns the drop-down menu. My cousin said she cannot go past the 3rd item, that it disappears (she hasn't gotten back to me specifying whether she ment the 3rd menu item or the 3rd level of navigation). I'm thinking for this problem that if others can navigate okay then she has a screen resolution issue.
Would someone please take a look at my website - http://www.frank-kolb-russia.org and see if you have the same problems?
Is there any solution to these issues?

Hiya Kelly,
I haven't got Chrome on this little Notebook, but I just checked it in FF (most recent) and IE8 and both are pretty much identical other than a bit of font difference which is typical. The menus look the same (even though I had a hard time getting to the bottom links on your menu on this notebook because the text is so large and spaced apart that it went below the screen and I couldn't get to it without hitting F11 on my keyboard to maximize my browser screen more. Then I could see them all. You may want to consider this for those using things like net/notebooks etc.
Other than that the menus looked like they were all there and I saw no flicker in IE8 at all as it loaded. Hope that helps

Hmmm, that's interesting because I still get the flicker when moving through the entire website, must be me?
I changed the font size for the main menu, can you or someone take a look and see if that is better?
I noticed that once I changed the font size, the heading that I have below the menu shifted up the the same line as the menu. The only way I can get it to position as before the font size change is to add a <br /> between the menu and header division, though I shouldn't have to since I everything lined up and centered prior to the font size change.

Disregard the part about using the break <br /> between the menu and header division.
I'm at home on my own computer now instead of the 10.1 inch Netbook and it looks fine to me in the most recent version of Firefox, no flickering and the text size does look better, but I'll tell you later if it's good on my 10.1.
The bad news is that it's flickering for me on IE8 also. I've looked at the code a bit and can't see anything obvious so hopefully someone else will have a clue on this. At least it's verified that it's really doing it and it's not just you

Thanks Jo Ann I appreciate it. I think I will post on the HTML Editor forum about the menu/header issue since the title of this post is about the pages flickering and not necessarily about my the new problem.
I sure am glad it isn't just me....

I only get the white flicker in IE8, FF and chrome are fine.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
