Hi all,

Got my first form made up.
Uploaded it and seems to work fine except i'm not receiving any emails.
form is here http://www.scaffold-towers.com/contact.htm

Hosting is with streamline.net, who seem pretty unhelpful to say the least.

Any ideas?

Ummm...change hosts? :>

Life is too short for grumpy hosts...

I am sure you have seen this page, but for quick link-to:
http://www.coffeecup.com/form-builder/help/

It is possible your web hosting company is not allowing send mail to work with php or your php is configured to not use sendmail.

If you have configured your e-mail address:

Then, it may well be the hosting plan....

I don't see any form on that page at all -- just an email link, which means anyone that clicks on it, it would open the user's default mail application at the workstation. Doesn't seem to be anything related to Flash Form or any form?

Could be he changed it when the form would not work...?

As they say, "Darn if I know!" ;)

Did you have a chance to check the page earlier?

Sorry, yeah i removed it for now. After loads of fiddling around (and trying in on one of my other sites) i've put it down to the host.
Been in touch with the speedy tech support on streamline (only 20 hrs for a reply) and they said they can't do anything.

I said thats fine and to give me details of how to move my domain to 1&1 and close my hosting account.

See if they reply any quicker this time !

Hi Dan.

What a coincidence. I'm with Streamline too and going through something similar to you.

See this thread on PC Advisor here

You'll find you will get lots of problems with them. I have and have only been with them for two months.

Database been down on four ocassions. Email not being delivered and a support system that just wishes you a nice day.

Ill be leaving Streamline within the month and will probably have to write off the money that I have paid out. They are notorious for not giving refunds - or apologies.

Hi Philip,

I've been with them for around 4 years now, and never had any problems whatsoever........ until now!
The trouble with them is i think they've got too big for themselves taking on more than they can handle.
As for refunds, i pay montly so not really an issue for me.
The thing that really gets to me about them is their control panel. Pretty much all you can do is add or edit email addresses!
Never really used them for email though as i use another server(simplewebhosting) who have to say have been outstanding. There is always a tech guy on the other end of msn messenger and bend over backwards to help you.
I have one email address with steamline (think they run the severs on steam lately!) and it is set to redirect to my other server.

So, who to go to next?? Have another account with 1&1 (dont like keeping all my eggs in one basket!)but not sure what their hosting is like. Servage seems to offer the best deals, but there is absolutely no tech support, or even a company address! I know people who are with them and say they are good, everything completely unlimited.

I'm going with EUKhost.com next: http://www.eukhost.com

I've asked around and they get the thumbs up from a lot of people.

The problem I have had with Streamline recently stems from trying to send a mass email from my phpBB forum to around 1000 users. All the one's (150+) with Hotmail/MSN addresses failed to deliver because of the Windows.Live spam control system.

Windows.Live gave me a piece of code to put in my DNS number but when I went to the Streamline control panel to do it I couldn't find it.

I asked Streamline to do it for me and this is the answer that I got:

Thank you for your query

Unfortunately for both security and performance reasons it is not possible to change server settings, apologies for any inconvenience.

Kind Regards,
StreamlineNet
Streamline.Net - The home of good value web hosting

We hope you have a good weekend. Have you seen our new support centre?

So I can't get the code inserted and I now have the situation that I can't email Hotmail addresses.

They say it's for security reasons but the email from Streamline servers is being treated as spam by Hotmail anyway. Surely they would want their servers to be seen as clean and compliant with Hotmail so why won't they implement it?

Anyway they've had their chance and now the football season is almost over I'll be going elsewhere.

That's the same reply i got too.
They must have a choice of 5 answers to send back to the ticket question and just choose one of them !

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
