Hello, I hope this finds you well.

I am relatively new to Coffee Cup and web site design and do not claim to have a good working knowledge of the intricate details of HTML code etc.

I have been using a few of the Coffee Cup tools for about 6 months now, VSD, Direct FTP, HTML Editor etc and built the attached site using them.

www.woodaledesigns.ie

Can one of you good people out there please educate me on why the site looks so different in Firefox i.e. jumbled text, misplacement of pics? I have done some reading and I get the impression it may have something to do with some of the HTML code that has been generated by VSD? Is this correct? I spoke to someone recently and they told be the Absolute Positioning does not help when viewing in different browsers. Also, they spoke about using CSS to address my problem?

Any help, opinions or direction would be greatly appreciated. Please bear in mind I'm by no means educated on this stuff and the website I have done is meant to be of a basic nature. From a Google/Yahoo ranking point of view, I am very happy with where it is at right now.

Thanks in advance.

I see what you may be talking about.

The latest version of VSD addresses the issue of how the site is rendered by different browsers. Try updating to the latest version of VSD and then open you vnu file and make a change then save and upload the page to your site and see what happens.

I suggest you download a copy of your home page and your vnu file before you make any changes.

Thanks Bill, appreciate that. I downloaded the new version of VSD and opened the vnu file. It is currently being saved to the web using Direct FTP transfer v6.2. Is this method OK do you think? Also, any chance you could revisit the site www.woodaledesigns.ie using Firefox to see if there has been any improvement? Really appreciate the feedback and help. Regards.

Hi, your site looks great to me, in I.E. and Firefox. with the new version of VSD it is said that uploading throught VSD is best way, and if you can't you could either ask any of the good people here and CC staff for help or go the secondary way with Direct Ftp as you are.Good Job.

Thanks Bruce, I just opened the existing vnu file I had with the new version of VSD, saved the files and used Direct ftp to load them as I find it more efficient and alot faster. It seems to have worked out fine which is great. All credit to Coffee Cup for addressing the isssue with the new version of VSD.

Turkish,

CoffeeCup did a good job with the new version of VSD making the various browsers display properly.

Glad the new version worked for you, and it does look the same in both IE6 and Firefox. I also checked with Opera and Netscape, and it looks good on all four.
