If I use search code on the home page...

Okay I'm thinking of using the html editor to do the Home page and it has a search function there already. If I connect it to coffee cup shopping cart and place the same code on those pages too will it be able to search all the pages?

Also what happens with the product pages as I can't see a way to add the code to them.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Hiya tassie,

I think you'll find you won't need to add a search feature to the shopping cart once they come out with the Pro version or with an update there after. The search feature was already sneak peaked to us on the forums here just before the Pro version went into Beta so I would expect it to be there at some point. That should alleviate a bit of work for you :)

As far as adding code to the Product pages, it's the same as any other pages of the SCC, you need to use the HTML tool on the edit toolbar of the product details page. I don't guarantee that it will work with a search but it can't hurt to try unless you have a few hundred or more items... it might hurt just a little bit then :) Soo... where's my chocolate? :P

My problem is I'm doing it for someone who wants the site now so will have the basic version so the Pro version won't help me on this one as there is no ETA so I can't count on it being here within the next week.

I did have the thought though to add it to the footer, just a pity it won't center!

The search function in Pro will be most welcome for my own shops though :)

Chocolate frog attached. Hope it hasn't melted...

awwwwwww what a cute chocolate frog he is lol.

yeah when you need it right now that's a problem, but give it a shot and see as I've never messed with the search program or scripts for one so I've no idea if it will work with the cart or not. Let us know if it does though just out of curiosity.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
