First things first. I am new here. Since a couple of days I am working with Visual Site designer and other handy tools. I works great.

Now the problem. I tried to link to an internal document and set the link parameter to document, with the path name and file name (where that dotted button is to follow the path within your own system). When trying to test it out with Previewing in my default browser (which is FireFox) I get the message that :

with path: E:\MUSICSCORES\SCORE.pdf that e is not a recognized protocol.

What next? I really want the users link to those doc's to view them in a new window (=target).

Hi Raymond. The problem is with Firefox not knowing how to load files from the local hard drive like IE does. If you change the default for which browser to use when previewing, it'll most likely work. It should also work correctly once uploaded, it's just previewing with Firefox that's a problem.

... and I thought finally getting rid of IE, now I have to install that again. .....

Anyway, thanks for the fast reply.

Did you get this part answered? To open in a new window, your link should read
<a href="yourpathhere" target="_blank"> your link </a>

Yes, when you mean if the problem was solved. I checked it with the "built-in" browser and it worked. Those musical score appeared in a separate browser window. At least one problem less, not that there are many using this CoffeeCup stuff. One can make really neat websites. When it is finished I will tell you all, but have patience my friend - till the end of the month.
