I am a newbie moving from template...
I use a Mac and have purchased Coffe Cup HTML Web Editor. I have read the Tutorial twice. I am still a little lost on some real basic concepts like, how do you know what code creates what color and where does the code come from in the first place? Is it possible to actually talk to someone?
Thanks,
Bonny

If you by 'talk' mean actually speaking, you can call CC support, they have looong working hours. You find the contact details under 'Support' on the black ribbon above here.
If you mean 'talk' with your fingers, however, you are in the right place. The web Editor for Mac has not quite grown up yet, it is lacking some features, like a toolbar, for starters.

Hiya Bonny,
Although I don't use the Mac setup at all, I'm going to assume that the code is the same regardless and if it's the code itself you're having problems getting the hang of try this site to get a nice startup tutorial for both HTML and CSS as well as the new versions of HTML5 and CSS3 and see if that helps at all. There's a nice tutorial setup on that site for both and Sitepoint.com has a lot of nice tutorials as well (paid ones that is though) that go through a lot of web code learning.

Hope that helps, and good luck on your new venture!

I don't know if the Mac version comes with templates and the split-screen view, but if so – experimenting with a template will give you a good overview of what does what.
I've also found this book to be very helpful:
HTML Manual of Style by Larry Aronson (an HTML reference, includes HTML5).

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

Thank you all for your help. I will check out the tutorials and book. Will the lack of a tool bar in the Mac version be a problem. I wondered why it looked so drastically different than the Windows version. Windows seems to be more user friendly. Are the tools in the drop down menu?
Thanks Bonny

Hi, Another question. There is reference to HTML5. The Web Editor for Mac is 1.5. Does that in anyway correspond to the Mac version being behind or is the HTML number completely separate issue?
That would be a separate version number of the program
