HTML Editor issue - a silly one too.

Turns out that HTML editor will not remember any spelling dictionary changes made from the default American English. It was never designed to do otherwise - cannot believe it myself. First program in 20 years of computing that does not remember such a fundamental setting. Words, or at least printable ones, for once fail me.

This is great software and CC is not doing themselves any favours in this shrinking world by not having fixed it already.

I have no such problem. The Editor remembers my settings from one session to the next. I use mainly the British English and the Norwegian dictionary, and they are always checked. I have the latest version of the Editor.

This is what I was told by CC tech support "If you close the software it will reset back to American English, because that option isn't stored anywhere in the software's config files. I'll pass this to our developers and see if they can change it in a future version." I choose not to publish the name of the person that told me this as clearly CC has some training issues ;).

Why should I doubt an official source?

Scott - please review the support thread for further info on this.

I am also on build 305

Scott, could you tell me where the config info is stored so I can change it manually - I have found the INI file and it does not seem to be there. Nothing I have been able to do here will make it stick.

Hi Guy
No problem here on build 305.
I changed settings to English (British)
It remembers settings when I close the editor and open again at a later date.

Cesar was incorrect in his assessment. He just tried it on his system and it worked as expected as well.

OMG, people are human and make mistakes. No matter where you go, people will misquote policy and procedure. It's part of life. :/

So lets get to brass tacks then :). Not only does it not work here under Win7, I tested it on another PC (XP) and the change did not stick either...neither did the 'only suggest from main dictionary'. Where is the info stored?

Where do I go from here to get this fixed? I'm happy to manually configure files and the registry if needed.
