Byron,

When I visited your calendar page, I saw 5 blue days. Looks like it is working now.

Hi Bill

That's strange. I already had it show only 1 blue day on a few different PCs this morning. I need to have it show correctly everytime from every PC.

Is there any way to force an F5 as soon as that page is opened? What else can I do?

Bryon,

Here is something you can try. You have a line in your code that looks like:
<DIV class="Object419"><A HREF="Calendar.html" ><IMG SRC="files/IMG_11.jpg" WIDTH=158 HEIGHT=49 BORDER=0 ALT="Schedule of Upcoming Performances"></A></DIV>

Change that line so the anchor tag looks like this:
<A HREF="http://www.suzyandbyron.com/Calendar.html" ><IMG SRC="files/IMG_11.jpg" WIDTH=158 HEIGHT=49 BORDER=0 ALT="Schedule of Upcoming Performances"></A>

All you are adding is the code to make the href an absolute URL. I have read an article that says this will force a refresh every time. That is something I will have to test sometime.

If that does not work, the only other thing I can think of right now is another meta tag, but it will do a refresh every X seconds. If you put in 600, it will refresh every 600 seconds or 10 minutes.

Hope this helps.

Hello All,

In IE go to Tools, Internet Options, General tab and click on the Settings button in the Temporary Internet Files section. Adjust the settings, click OK, then click Apply then click OK again. Close all browser windows and reopen to ensure the change is initiated.

Hi Bill

Well... I did the changes that we talked about last night for the Calendar page (having it open as its own link). I tried it on a bunch of PCs this morning. Most all of the PCs never had been to my website before, so there should not have been anything in the cashe. About half of them opened with all the events listed and about half of them were missing some events until manually refreshed.

As far as the favicon... I downloaded Firefox, and you're right, I see the favicon using that browser, but not with Internet Explorer. You can check out the source from my site (www.suzyandbyron.com). I added the 2 lines of code like you have on your site to every page on my site, but still no-go with IE.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Byron,

The code for the favicon looks good to me. It is the same as my code, and it looks like it should work.

Maybe we can get another set of eyes to look at it to see why it does not work.

The calendar is working properly as far as I can tell. I still see 5 blue days every time I visit the calendar.

Try this.

Remove any bookmarks for the site with the ill favicon. Empty interent cache. Close browser. Open browser and type in url. I have had problems changing favicon and this helped.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Hi Tom!

Thank you for the info. But what about everyone else in the world that should see it? I can do your recommendations with my PCs but I'm wanting everyone to see it.

Also, I accessed my website from about a dozen PCs this morning here at work, most of which had never been on my site, and there was no favicon. They all use Internet Explorer.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again!!

Tom,

To get rid of the cashe, do I delete the Temporary Internet Files, or the Cookies, or both?

Thanks

Byron,

You are in good company. I just visited Google.com and verified that they have a favicon (using Firefox). Then I visited using IE6, and they do not.

This is what I did. I visited Google, added it to my IE favorites, and the favorites list had the Google icon. Then I played with the favorites icon. I clicked on it to reload the page, then I went back and did a drag and drop on the favorites icon (dropped it in the browser window). Now that icon is working.

I tried the same process on your site, and the favicon did not show up.

I really dislike IE. (GRRRRRRRR)
