Hello There
My job involves software training, I would like to record my screen actions to make a training video, could someone recommend some real time PC screen capture software please?

I have used a program called "wink" from Debugmode
http://www.debugmode.com/wink/
I use the free version...been a while since I visited their web page. I think they have a paid version with more options. I have seend others, but I can't remember the names right now.
Maybe do a Google on "screen capture software" and hopefully you will find some free trials to test which software works best for you.

Really? A web-based Desktop Management program is better at video capture than what we've listed? That's interesting since it's impossible, but thanks for spammi..uhh.posting.
thanks adam for the camstudio link.i have a problem,i capture my video in avi format upload to a site then try to play the video on the hosts site player which is a divx player,it wont play,if you download and play it in a divx player or wmp it plays fine, but not when streaming, its only a minute long.divx and avi files i thought where the same, and both can be played through the player.
any ideas.

It's been quite a while since I tested Camstudio, but I have a good feeling the .avi files it creates aren't using the Divx codec. The Camstudio app claims "its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)." I'd sooner go that route, or convert the AVIs to FLVs and use an app like CoffeeCup's Web Video Player. If you haven't already tried Wink, it does the exporting ("rendering" as they call it) to swf w/o the middleman AVI format created first.
If you're not using the built in converters of Camstudio or Web Video Player, my current converter of choice is a freebie called Quick Media Converter available here: http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/

i tested Screen VidShot. for me it was sufficiently easy and quality! allows you to record screen to video AVI, ASF, WMV
here find more information http://geovid.com/Screen_VidShot/

I use Adobe Captivate to create system demonstrations, pricier than Camtasia but i think its a great product.
Very easy to use, lots of features to change, outputs to a SWF

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
