I need help. My host is with GoDaddy and everytime I try to upload my website I get this error:

"Error while uploading. The program could not create a catalog."

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

More info might help, is this first upload, or new error when updating

Server your uploading to, ie hosting company

FTP settings, ie have you tried /public_html

But first thing to try is switching off your firewall which often causes errors especially on first upload

The firewall thingy mentioned by Viv is probably correct as well.

Moving from a novice to an intermediate, I would recommend you download FileZilla from sourceforge.net and learn how to setup an FTP connection to Godaddy.com hosting. In doing so, you will get to see the REMOTE file directory tree, and in turn, Setup your VSD FTP connection correctly.

It might take a little patience and a little nerve, but you will be rewarded in the end overall by realizing how the remote host determines Remote Web Hosting folders.

Sometimes, I just setup my FileZilla Client to connect to the Web host and see what is the correct remote folder to setup my VSD FTP connection entry and make sure I upload to the correct remote folder.

You could log into your Go Daddy account and check to see your specific settings. Make sure you have the correct info in your VSD FTP settings.

Bruzer helped me with this a few years ago... I didn't realize I'd been typing public-html rather than public_html
