Help with button links
Just starting, and I know this is very basic so I apologize. When testing the links on the objects I have buttonized, the active area for the link is overshadowing the objects (links) around it. How can I keep the active area just inside the objects border? Can I also make a word in a sentence an active link? And last but probably most helpful, Is there a decent tutorial available that I can study?
Thanks for the help
Jeff.

Assuming you are using VSD latest version.
If the link in the Help Menu does not fire up the Manual, you will find it at: My Computer > Local Disk > Program Files > Coffee Cup Software > Visual Site Designer > PDF Logo. (WXP)
It is excellent, in glorious Technicolor and, of course, can be saved and printed off.
You'll find Help Manuals for other CC software along the same path by replacing VSD with the name of the CC software you are using. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response.
I have read the manual but it does not tell how to shrink the active area of a created link. The object I created is a rectangle with the dimensions listed in the 'Object Properties' of 143 wide, 44 high, 0 degrees. Button text = Arial 18. I have six of these in a column on the left of every page to help navigate the web site. They have a space between each of about 20 (roughly half the size of the buttonized object). The problem is when I preview the web page the active links of each button overlap the one(s) above and below it. I can space the buttons out but like the look of them grouped near the top of each page so I was wondering how to shrink the active area of each button (link).
I hope I am explaining this well enough. Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks again.
I am using the latest version (build 11)

I'm a little lost on your request. You have placed objects on your page and you have linked them to other pages on your site or somewhere else. Now when you preview them they're closer together and or over lapping each other. Please clarify.
Can you upload and share a link?

The objects that I created link to the other pages of the web site. The actual objects are fine but the area that becomes the link on the web site ( the mouse cursor turns into a pointing finger) becomes larger than the object itself so you are not able to effectively click on another link button.
Here is a link. Sorry I couldn't explain it better.

I looked at your code and looked at all the pictures that VSD creates when you add objects. Do you have a large glow effect offset built into your buttons on the left hand panel?

Yes. I was just playing with that and realized the glow effect which expands beyond the created object border becomes the size of the active area for the link.
Thanks, I really appreciate the help everyone. Hope I get good enough to return the favor.
