Google Maps
Google maps takes about 10-15 seconds to load in IE9, but loads in 2-3 seconds in GC & Firefox. Is there anything I can do to hasten the loading time in IE9? Most of the visitors to my website use IE9.
Thanks
Thanks
I would ask Microsoft.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I did a search on Google for "Google Maps Loads Slow" and found a lot of people were having this problem. But, the dates of these discussions was 2009 and so I was hoping some kind of fix had been found by now. Maybe not. Once its loaded, it looks and works great.
No fix I know of. IE9 like most Microsoft programs contains a lot of (garbage) shall we say and it just loads slow. I've never had any luck with speeding it up. Short of buying a faster computer

Final Update.....
Google maps was taking 15+/- seconds to load when I previewed it from within Coffee Cup on my local desktop. I decided to test it live on the www and it loads in 3 seconds on IE9. I feel like I dodged a bullet on this one.

My guess is the script for that or for something else is what is causing your issue. There are a lot of scripts that cause visual issues when using them in pretty much any code editing application so it may not really be HTML Editor that is the culprit here, but the script itself when previewing it.
I would agree with JoAnn. The script is the culprit not the Editor. See how long you have to wait for the script to load in Notepad.

I wasn't aware that this question about the loading time of Google maps was actually in preview, and not on the web. I have made some sites with Google maps with a lot of markers of places, and I always preview in the browser when working with such sites. The loading time in the external preview is much too long. But this only affects the google maps, and the more markers, the slower it loads..
But I have always thought this is a script thing, not a flaw in the html Editor, as everything else loads fast enough. And as soon as the pages with Google maps are live, the loading time is normal in all the browsers I have.
