You must have the html editor. So start learning a little HTML and CSS, otherwise take a look at VSD.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I have both HTML Editor and VSD but this site was redesigned in WordPress and hosted on HostGator last summer, so I don't even know how to use HTML editor with it anymore.

Is that possible?

Is CoffeeCup coming up with a way to download WordPress sites locally, edit them, then make the changes? That would be like totally awesome and I'd be interested!

I've never worked with WordPress. I would think about rebuilding the site completely with VSD or the HTML editor. You can always start redoing it and keep it in a sub-folder on your host until you have it done.:)

Melissa, since you are using WordPress, you can't use VSD. Learning html and css is a good idea, and it will only cost you the price of the html Editor. Then you could get rid of WordPress and do it all from scratch. Create a subfolder on the server where you upload the files while learning and working, then you won't mess up the current site.

Before I quoted you my price, I had asked some developers in the US what they would charge, in order to be fair to you. I even went lower than what they advised me to. I think you will have difficulties in finding someone cheaper, to be honest. So, better start learning to do it yourself.

I see you posted something while I was writing. If you already have VSD, all the more reason drop WP and make the site from scratch. You don't have to worry about tables or any other html entities, VSD does it all for you. And Eric is the perfect helper and VSD expert should you need one

The reason we had it done in WordPress and hosted on HostGator was so we could have the php, blog and forums. But no one has used the forum yet, so I'm wondering...

But if we went back to hosting at our ISP and used VSD, is it up to doing perfectly W3C compliant code by now, that renders right across all the browser platforms?

Yeah but it's a lot of work and a lot of learning Inger, and I don't know if I have the time and energy. Plus I'd have to get rid of that forum there, which no one has been using anyway.

I have a site built with VSD that I incorporated a forum. Same thing no one uses it but it was fun making it. I would give VSD a try. What do you have to lose?:)

Can it do the style.css, use the gradient for a background, all that?

That's an amazing ( and bizarre :-) photo you did there. How'd you do that? Is it a 3D effect?
