Form for customers to download
I used VSD to build our business website. We are a non-profit and visitors can use PayPal to donate. However, we have had several requests in the past two weeks for a form that people can download, print, fill in and then mail with their check. I'm not sure how to do that and am wondering if anyone can give me some tips. I've used the HTML tool frequently, but don't really know how to translate that into something that can be downloaded.
Hiya Uldene,
I am thinking the best way you could do that is to save the form/document in PDF format, upload that file and then create a link on your page for them to click on. This "should" then open the PDF file in Adobe Reader automatically for them which has printing setups within it.

The only thing I hate about pdf files is that most people have no way of editing them on their computer. So they have to print and hand write on them.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I have downloaded quite a few PDF forms that I was able to fill in via my 'puter, and print. Could not save the filled out form, but was still better than having my horrible handwriting on it

Well in this case that's exactly what the poster is asking for lol. Hence if that is the case then the PDF would be the perfect solution I would think

If you can grab Adobe Acrobat for cheap, you too can create pdf forms that visitors can fill out electronically.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
You can create forms that can be filled out in Word (I know in 2007 and 2010, definitely). You can then "restrict editing" so that the only thing a person can do when they open the file is fill in the form fields.
Here's a link from MS's website which might help. I've done this on sites I manage, and saved them as .doc (93-2003 version), so that any version of MS word could open it. You'd have to use standard fonts in the document, so formatting wasn't affected on other computers, but it might be what you're looking for.
