Embedded Quicktime movie forced to...

I have had this issue with flash objects before: they are forced to the top layer on a webpage, so the DHTML menu drops down behind them. The issue was fixed in the slideshow I finally got to work by setting the "wmode" to "transparent".
The problem is that I need to embed a quicktime movie into the page, and setting the wmode to transparent messes up the movie. How can I make the menu drop down in front of the movie, without messing up the movie?

I have gotten the movie to work at http://southpacificfamily.org
I changed the movie file into a flash file, then downloaded a free flash player, uploaded all the files, and set the player's wmode to "opaque" which finally worked. So, that's not quicktime, but it works.
