Easy Way for Client to add info - Page 1

I currently setup a website for a friend of mine's girls soccer league.... He wants me to create a new section on the site for important announcements - 2 actually (1 for each of the 2 age groups)

Easy enough.... but he wants to be able to edit the info on his own. He has no html experience and no software at this time for updating any files of html content - actually all pages on the site use a php extension due to the fact that I set up includes for the menu files.

So my question is.... is there any type of simple setup I can use that will allow him to make simple text only changes in these 2 new sections I am going to create.

I am guessing the best way to do this is via a database but I am completely database illiterate and do not even know where to start so any ideas would be appreciated.

There's a setup out there called CushyCMS that might work for this Ron. Gives you the ability to setup what page(s) or sections of a page you want to allow to be modified without the end user having to have any actual software. They would log into the CushyCMS system similar to a normal CMS site and would edit it right through there. Might want to give that a try?

Keep in mind that there are several sites like CushyCMS that require the website FTP information be stored on their servers to work. Your client should accept the third party being privy to this sensitive information before you release it.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Or you could just set up a forum. Most hosting companies offer one for FREE

I use CusyCms for all my clients. It is very easy for clients to work with. If they can work with a word document they can work with CusyCms :)

Sounds to me like he needs to be set up with a Stream from our dear friends at CoffeeCup  Then he could post by simply e-mailing the message or he could use PowerPost either way, easy peasy.

LOVIN THE S DRIVE !!!!! Just set up a test one and looks to be working nicely but I have one quick question.... I have a temp page set up at http://www.cheetahfastpitch.com/blast.php with the code embedded in it but for some reason on the first post it is showing some odd symbols wherever there is a carriage return... any ideas?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
