Ah Angel, you truly live up to your name!

Hi Anji, THANK YOU for the kind compliment. It was my pleasure to help you with this :)

So all those a href tags need to point to the specific file on the server itself and not in my hard drive.

Yes. They need to "see" where the files are. You can put them anywhere that you want, but you need to give the menu 'directions' for where they are. I usually keep all of my images in one folder, and then sort out what type of images from there. Use whatever kind of organizational methods are easiest for you. For example; say you had a folder named 'shapes' and a two other folders called 'colors' and 'sizes'. Now let's say you have an image of a big red ball. You can put that image in the sizes folder which is in the colors folder which is in your main image folder (like this www.yoursite.com/images/shapes/colors/sizes/bigredball.jpg) or you can put it in just the sizes folder which is in the images folder (www.yoursite.com/images/sizes/bigredball.jpg) which ever is easier for you. Just remember that you need to give the menu your path to the big red ball image. If you are uncertain just type it out in the address bar (where the URL is) and press enter. If the address is correct you will see your image.

So, what I would need to do is add files, upload to s drive, then copy paste the url at the top for each of those files. Correctomundo?

Yes, Correctomundo :D

And so, do I need to organize my files according to page or can I just upload everything that I use under the root folder?

That is totally up to you Anji, but as your site grows it will be much easier for you to have some sort of organization for the all the files. It's best to do this when the site is first made so that you don't have to do it twice and so that if you need to move the files that the old links will still work. I always make a image folder even if I have no images, because you may need it later. There is no right or wrong way but as you build more sites you'll want to have some sort of basic "standard plan" for all of them because it will help you later as the site grows.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
