This is my header HTML that I found very confusing bit of information. Does it look ok??

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

Many thanks

It is OK for HTML 4.x. However how does this header appeal to you
<!DOCTYPE html> ? It's HTML 5, you might consider taking a serious look at it since that will become the standard one day.

Oh man!!!!! I have no idea. This is code that I got off of the internet after searching quite a while. There seems to be a lot of descrepency in this which is very frustrating to those of us who do not do it every day. What do you suggest exactly??
Thanks

Second thought, stop worrying VSD does its own necessary code, it will be automatically correct, but its slightly different to standard HTML

Assuming you have not put anything in manually with the html tool, which i doubt ;)

I did put

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

manually into header with VSD. Is this what you mean?

If you're using VSD, you don't need to manually add this at all. VSD creates all the code it needs :D

Good point, Viv :) It would be best to take out that Doctype and let VSD handle it.
In the top menu bar under Settings > Standard Settings for New Pages, one can choose either Transitional or Strict for the Doctype and VSD will insert the proper code.

Interesting, do I make these changes and apply to all pages?
