DHTML Window Designer and Visual Site...

Good Morning,

Overnight, I have had 21 views and no assitance, so I assume, I have not stated my issue clearly. Let me try again. What I am asking is where and how in Visual Site Developer do I paste the DHTML code and how do I upload the JS file and library. I know how to FTP and have done that. I can see the window in the DHTML developer's preview that I have built. However, when I use the "add HTML" option in VSD, and upload the JS modules to my web server, I still can't get the window to develop. I have tried the three options, "Body", "Header", and "On Load". I get different responses in IE7 (my previewer), but it never comes close to generating the correct view.

I am new to CoffeCup and I am using trialware to see if I can do this, so I am a neophyte. Any and all assistance is appreciate. I believe it is a failure on my part to understand the limitations or the proper steps to follow.

Thanks,
Robert

Hello,

I built a window with the DHTML Window Designer built into HTML Editor. I have been constructing my website with Visual Site Designer. However, I cannot determine the proper way to insert the HTML code and link the java script modules to the web page so that it will work properly.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to build a window with a sliding frame within Visual Site Designer? I could not figure out a way.

In conclusion, I have the text window with the slider made in DHTML Window Designer. I also have the web page created in Visual Site Designer. What are the steps to integrate this Java Script and HTML (or DHTML) code into the Visual Site Designer page I working on??

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,

I read your post first time around, and I have spent a couple of hours today trying to accomplish what you want to do, but I have not managed to get the desired result. I also tried pasting the code as body and header, but the little code field in the dhtml window shows that the code has to be pasted OUTSIDE the html tags. I don't think that will be possible in VSD.

But, by all means, there may be a way to do this, so your best bet is to contact the CC support and ask.

Inger,

Thank you for your response. If I cannot add it in VSD, how can I get the HTML out of VSD to edit it in HTML editor? Perhaps, I can add the DHTML code to it there or even in notepad. I just haven't come across a "export HTML code" in VSD.

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,

VSD creates a folder with a name such as 'whatever.vnu_website' (whatever being the name you have given your project) In that folder you'll find the html files. If you want your dhtml window to appear on say the index file, you open it in the html Editor and insert the code.

Be aware that any later editing in VSD will overwrite the dhtml code, so from the point that you start using the html Editor, you have to continue using it.
