Never come accross this one in UK, I even have a bank account with my TRADING name rather than my actual name, having never registered either.
I did get into a row many years ago because when my brother came into the business, we were going to call the shops our surname brothers but there was a major clothing company in UK trading under same name, but as we were selling different products, it was deemed to be OK
