Greg, I see that your container width is set to 1200px. That means that anyone with a monitor screen 1024x768 will have to scroll sideways to be able to see the pictures and read the text. Whereas scrolling up and down is accepted, sideways scrolling is regarded a no-no in web design and will cause a lot of irritation for the end users. The stats for my own sites show that there are a lot of 1024x768 monitors out there. I'd say set the width to just 1000px.

When you say above here 'switching back and forth', do you mean between the HTML Editor and VSD, or do you mean between the code mode and the visual mode of the HTML Editor? Actually, neither should be done. I have already warned you about changes made outside VSD will not take affect when the files are reopened in VSD, but also between the two modes of the HTML Editor should not be switched, because it will mess up your code as the two are using completely different ways of positioning the various page elements.

Yes I found out after I uploaded the index pg to the server the first time the site is saved in the VSD program it gets back the undesired html again. Did not seem to have any of these problems when working with the ancient 95 Frontpage exp seemed to have allot of more flexibility in how to go about editing the web site yes I was doing allot of switching around of applications and of the use of the applications Guess I will still end up re-doing at least the home pg
It really is such a crying shame that all of the people with nice large monitors with large resolution and high speed connection and such extreme huge capabilities of their computer system get to go online and have a fraction of their screen filled and get to use a magnifying glass so as to be able to see things
It seems such a shame to have to cater to the least instead of cater to the most I mean design for the tiny screens and slow connections rather than design for the large screens and fast connections

You can always use Colorbox to link to some larger images and give users a choice.

OK Gregster back again, I redid the 10 pgs again they now are 1000 pixels wide I am going to input the keywords before uploading this time. Would the keyword workhorse painting company be one word with either a space or comma before and after would the keyword be like ,workhorsepaintingcompany, or would you do it like ,workhorse painting company, using comas and spaces?

Comma after each word or phrase is common.
workhorse painting company, commercial, residential,.......and so on

I'm Back, Uploaded the site again this evening well late this evening1:00 am ish. I had to delete some of it and over copy several times and refresh multiple times and go off and back onto the site to get a couple of the pgs to go ahead and overwrite or to go away. Anyway persistence got it done. It is rendering correctly for me on my system with IE and Firefox. All of the text that used to be in graphics and was either gif or jpg graphics have been redone as actual text for the SEO that should be an improvement.
The size is 1000 pix. wide that should be an improvement. It now has proper meta listing and does not bookmark as index any longer so that should be a big improvement. I put in the keywords and descriptions on the pgs that are relevant now so that should be a big improvement
So now I am going to expect to start getting some hits on the site other than those of my own.
And I am not using the swf files any longer of which was suggested to shy away from
So, I have so far followed all of your suggestions... Did it all with the VSD.
Guess that I will learn how to use the sitemapper application for the sitemap link probably will do that when I about have the site about complete about 50 pgs from now.

Greg - One more thing to consider... fonts. I don't have 'Marker-Hollow' on any of my computers, so some of the text is really messed up for me. For example; the "Residential * Commercial..." runs all over the photographs and the Workhorse title. Also, on my netbook horizontal scrolling is necessary Pages under 1000 px wide display just fine.

If you want to use a non-standard font and it's just for a few headlines, use the advanced text feature so it will display as an image. Just be sure to go to the object properties box and fill in the alt-text description so search engines can read it.

See attached image of what your index page looks like. You definitely have to do something with the font, as Paintbrush says.
