I created a PowerPoint slide show that I would like to post as a video on the website. I have CC Web Video Player but of course *.ppt files are not an option. The slide show is fairly simple, 50 slides, using fade transitions and a background audio track.
What have you used to make this conversion?

I use Audition to make e-learning presentations from Power Point slide shows and audio
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
Hi Robert,
Install OpenOffice ( www.openoffice.org -free-). Load your Powerpoint presentation in Impress (the OpenOffice counterpart of Powerpoint) and export it there a a Flash presentation. Voilà.

Thanks for the quick feedback.
After I posted I snooped around the iNet and decided to give the PowerVideoMaker trial version a try. It converted my 26-Mb PPT file into a 1.4-Gb AVI file. My slide transitions got "speeded up", so the audio synchronization was off quite a bit by the end and the remaining audio got chopped off. The video quality was excellent.
I'll look into your suggestions (and any others that might comment) to see if this can be any better. It's 'not too bad' for the first attempt, but it's not perfect either.

Robert checkout Camtasia Studio:

Camtasia has a 30 day trial fully working. The downside is the price.
"Second class fairway is better than first class rough!"
Woody would you mind sending me your slideshow so I can see if any of the converters I have can do this?
Camtasia captures whatever is on your screen... any application, Powerpoint, Flash, webcams, movies and you can add narration via three different audio tracks. It's pan and zoom facilities are really useful. This video isn't a Powerpoint but you can get the gist of things. You also might want to have a look at Jing, also from Techsmith and a LOT cheaper alternative.

You just saved me a bunch of trouble, John... Thanks, man! I've been using Open Office for years, and never knew it had that ability.
There's a few free screen recorders among the sinngle screen capture programs at http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fwscreen.html
I have not used them but found the Snapfiles reviews reliable.
