The moderators have the right to remove links and even delete your post if it is seen as spam, and to be honest, I don't see how your post or the link posted is anything other than an attempt at driving traffic to that link.

You are allowed to use links, if it's in a reply to someone's questions, to give an example of an issue or to a site that you built to show it off or to get help with. Posting random links to other software tools because you are on some 'pay per click' ad scheme is equal to spamming.
