I may be over my head hoping to figure out how to recreate the effects. I am working on my web site right now and it is nice, but not like this. I need to get a site up and running, but soon I want to slow down and work toward something more fun like the Informatech site. Can any of these effects be achieved using CoffeeCup?

That site is all FLASH.

If you want to do a flash site, you will need to buy Adobe Flash.

You may be able to do something similar using CoffeeCup Firestarter.

The site looks cool and all, but I would strongly suggest you stay away from websites that are completely Flash-based. They're always difficult to navigate. Stick with Flash elements here and there instead.

The other downside of using all Flash for a website is that search engines won't rate your site as high.

So I suggest using a combination of both html and a flash file embedded into the html page. that way you get the best of both.

I have an exsample here where the Flash into was created with coffee cup firestarter.
