Hi All..When using Website Access Manager and someone forgets their password what are others using so the people can contact them for a new one? Usually in the password window they have a link they can click on to receive this information but with Website Access Manager login it is not there. Just playing around I type in a bogus password to see what would happen and after the third time it kicked me to another page that said "Authorization Required" but it didn't give me any option to send for a new or current password? Any ideas on this? Thanks..Keithmj :D

I have purchased your formbuilder software already and am looking at the website access manager. Is there any tutorial that shows how by using the two that would allow you to have a log in setup similar to coffeecup.com where users can create a profile and also have the forgotten password features?

Thanks,
Bill

Formbuilder can write to a mysql database. Access manager uses an htacess file. They are for two different applications.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Hiya William,

I think you misunderstood the conversation above, and I do hope that's not what prompted your purchases as the 2 programs cannot do what you're wanting to do. You will need some form of database setup to do what you need as your site will need to be able to save id's and passwords and site access levels which cannot be done with these programs.

What WAM does is gives you the ability to allow access to any files or pages or folders to specific ID's & PW's, but it does not incorporate any integration to your site at all, it's basically a generic box that pops up to allow you to log in for access to a page. Once logged in that information is then gone and when you close the page it should then make you relog in again as there's no saved data. This system works great if you don't need to have any type of profile information and just want to give someone access to part(s) of your websites. When someone goes to the page, file or folder that you have protected it will automatically pop up that login window, it's not a login in a website page. Hope that makes sense.

With the form builder, as the conversation above mentioned, you can add a form to your website for your users of the WAM accounts to be able to contact you for their login information. It's not an auto system as you'll need to reply manually, but it will work for site that don't require large amounts of accounts and that you can manage manual email responses with the information. I would suggest you put some sort of special questions or something for your users to use to be sure they are who they say they are etc. But other than that, this should work fine for smaller systems of users. :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
