Hello All,

Firstly, apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere previously. I have searched through the support files and the forums but couldnt find anything that gave me the answers.

In short, we want our clients to be able to visit our site, log-in, submit instructions (via the web form builder) and log out.

Could somebody point me in the right direction to implement the features below? (If achievable at all!)

* Is it possible to make the details of the registered user (Name, Site ferrence, Authorised by, Site-time recorded etc) available to the Web form builder?

So for example, our current blank paper report sheet can hold client detail, job detail and any other notes.
We would like all of our clients details to be automatically filled in on the form when they log in to use the form.

* Is it possible to add a rising counter to the contact form?

Apologies if these questons are posted in the wrong place. Ive used VSD for around 2 years now, but never used the forums - so please extend me the standard "Forum Newbie" slack if ive dropped a nut.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Nick

Hiya Nick,

The Web Access Manager is not tied to anything within a website at all really. It's only tied to accessing specific pages or directories themselves, not the content within them though. Once a person logs in via the Web Access Manager they have access to whatever pages you have given them access to, but there is no way to tie that login to anything within your actual site (creating a saved login similar to a CSM site isn't possible).

Having said that, what you are trying to achieve is probably possible for the most part as long as you don't care if the login is actually accounted for within the Web Access Manager setup.

Example setup:

1. You setup the WAM with a new account.
2. You give them access to a specific page with the form on it that you want them to submit information in.
3. You give the person their login information via email or whatever means you have setup for it along with link(s) to the specific page(s) & directory(ies) they now have access to with their login (this would be a manual thing not automatic).
4. The person goes to the site page that you have given them links to and logs in with the information that you have given them.
5. The person is now able to visit the page(s) you have given them access to and fills out the form you are asking about above.

That's it really. No major login system is really needed for what you're asking.
As for the counter thing, you can actually add a counter to the page(s) that you want to keep track of and do so that way pretty easily.

Hope that helps and good luck with it :)

I'm thinking my question was answered above, but need to double check.

client has a huge site; a small portion of that site is available only to members.
client needs new users to request authorization to view members only area; new user fills out the form, the form is emailed to the list keeper (person); that person says okay and the new user is manually accepted. New user can now login with the delivered information and see the protected areas.

WAM allows for this, right?

thanks much, Sharon

Fabulous! Thanks sooo much; I'll be building that site and moving it in the next few weeks and will definitely give WAM a go!
