Hi Guys

Can I use Website Access Manager with Joomla 1.7

I want to set up a full website with Joomla 1.7.

And then control single web page access.

We have a company where we would like our customers to log in to their own web page that will show only their customer details, service history, invoices etc

Can't you already do this with Joomla?

Yes, Joomla has pretty much all of that built in, but.....

Have they updated to have a better control panel for groups and such yet? That part I'm not sure on and it used to be pretty rinky dink and you actually needed something like WAM to control who could and couldn't see things. Drupal had a much more useful groups setting and member setup.

I know they "were" adding in better member setups for controlling who could do what where etc, but I haven't used it in a while so I don't know if they ever really added it or not.

Check that George, it's most likely there, but if not then for sure you should be able to use WAM, it will just take a bit of hunting on your part to know exactly where the files and pages you want to control are.

The latest version of Joomla 2.5 will do everything you need when it comes to user access. You may also consider using Admin Praise Admin Templates. Many of then make it easier than ever to control access to certain areas and so on.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
