Hi, I'm trying to redirect my site to my secure ssl site and i'm using this code in my .htaccess file:
Redirect 301 / https://alphaonline.com.au/

I have upoaded it okay in ASCI. It just won't work on my godaddy virtual server on a website where I want to use the secure site.

I have also tried <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=https://www.alphaonline.com.au"></HEAD> in the head meta tags. That works but keeps on refreshing.

Do you guys have any ideas for me please.

Thanks Tom. I will give it a go and let you know if this works for me. I must say that some interesting things happen with godaddy.com.

Great. I'm not a fan of GoDaddy or Yahoo hosting.

Tom, Success and thanks a million. I did have to struggle a bit with the grey matter though. I use a linux server and Plesk through godaddy and couldn't get to understand why your .htaccess code wouldn't work so went looking and found that I had been lazy with my set up of the website https://alphaonline.com.au and had checked the "use single directory for housing ssl and non ssl content". So that was bouncing over itself! All well now.
You coffeecup people are the best! It goes to show that using a sleuth approach often finds the culprit which was me! Regards, Brian Mellady
