Multiple listing of same directory...

Hi! Everything was working great until yesterday. When I bring up my users and choose the protected folder it lists the folder name 5 times instead of once for each user. I deleted all and started again. Same thing. Also, now, the upload hangs up halfway through and the problem has to be shut down via task manager.

I just got the newest version, but still having the problem.

Thanks

The last status message I get before the updload crashes is
226.-File successfully transferred
226.0.104 seconds (measured here) 29.97 kbtyes per second

The uploading bar is half way across the top and then nothing happens.

Thanks

Sounds like you hosed your database. I would suggest manually deleting all .htaccess and .htpasswd files over FTP and then completely start a new database in Access Manager.

yet more info. I checked the htaccess file and the names are being written to the file multiple times - in line with the names appearing mulitple times in the list.

So if I can get them to not show up more than once, the ftp should work fine.

I'll keep trying.

Scott - thanks for the suggestion. I actually just fixed it, I think, by renaming the protected file and pointing all users to that one. I hope that takes care of it, but if, not I'll take your suggestion.

If I need to start a new database, would I be able to export the users or would they have to be reentered by hand?

thanks Scott

Scott - I spoke too soon. When I went back in the folder is in there twice for each user.

I can export the account, but I can back up the database (which I guess I don't want to do anyway) because I'm receiving an error about invalid unique field - which makes sense.

I'll start a new database and then import the users - or so you think I need to enter them again by hand?

thanks,
Glenn

Scott - I redid the database and imported the users from the csv and all is well. Thanks for your help.
