I have both Website Access Manager & Password Wizard but have not realy started using them yet but wanted a little help before I started. Basically Im wanting to create a log in & create account form which is no problem at all but when a new user wants to create an account how can it be 100% automatic so that they can create there own account, password and gain instant access to the members area's without me having to manually add there account request to my database and allow them to certain area's.
Is there any way that this can all be done automatically without me even having to know to the basic members area and then I can manually upgrade there access at a later time as they become a more highly respected member.
What I am trying to avoid is creating a simple form that simply emails all the details so that I then have to manually set it all up. I want to avoid this as the member cannot then gain instant access and then he may foget about the website and move on to another site with a similar theme that does allow this. Iv only been designing sites for a couple of years and have never created an account based website before so its all a little new to me but almost all of the larger, more popular websites allow an instant, automated sign up process allowing immediated access to any memebers area once an email address confirmation link has been sent and clicked by the registrant. any guides, video's or just general help would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Users can't create their own account using htaccess and WAM. The point of the htaccess method of control is so admins can maintain control of what users can access on the site. It's not a sign-up and gain access process.

Sounds like you are interested in a CMS. You decide what areas are private and what is public, as well as what roles and rights users have.
