I will try to resolve, but in the interim, can anyone verify WFB crash upon adding a Country predefined drop-down list field? Each time I reopen WFB (latest version) and try to add a Country predefined drop-down list field the app crashes. Please verify and/or advise... thanks! Jefferson

At what point does it crash? Please elaborate a bit further.
I inserted a list of countries, then one of the US states, previewed and all was ok.
I have not saved the form, have nothing else in it, but the bits I did went ok without any crashes.
I'm using win8.1

Oh, I also saved the file, closed the programme, then reopened the file by double clicking it, no crash so far.

Thanks Inger. WFB crashes immediately after I click on (and auto-populate) the Countries predefined list. I can adjust everything else in that drop-down list field without incident, BUT, when I add the Country predefined list to that form field (drop-down list)... WFB crashes. Thoughts?
Thanks dear man... Jefferson

The 'dear man' is actually a woman...
What OS are you using?
Do you log into your computer as an administrative user?
Do you have any programme that could interfere, such as anti-virus, or spybot protection? Not that WFB contains anything dubious, but those programmes might pick up on quite innocent files or procedures.
Or have you installed anything lately, after installing WFB?
Have you tried running WFB as an Administrator? (right-click the prog. icon and choose Run as Administrator)
Those are the things I could think of.

Sooo sorry Inger... dear "woman" }:-Q

Running as full Admin for all.

WFB just recently began to have these issues and earlier today the predefined list icon in the drop down form field panel was missing too (not show in the GUI) ...only the + and - icons were showing under the Options section. Now those icons are showing again... strange.

I had already tried your wonderful troubleshooting steps before posting for help...thanks!

I believe what I should try is to download the full installer from my Member/Purchases area and reinstall over the current (same) version... and give that a shot. Is that advisable Inger? Any other thoughts?
I am grateful Inger... and sorry about the "dear man" thing... Jefferson

It is usually recommended to uninstall the WFB before reinstalling. But otherwise, downloading again and reinstall is a good idea.

Don't worry about the gender. I'm used to being mistaken for a man here - and other places on the web. Maybe it's because my name ends with a r, I don't know...

Using Win7 it all works for me. No crashes. Norton 360 running.
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

Merry Christmas all! :D
