I install and uninstall many apps on my PC and whilst not cutting edge, my system is safe enough - original Intel i7 860, 8GB RAM, 3 x 2TB SATA 3 disks (working at SATA 2).

This app literally, takes about 15 mins to uninstall and reinstall itself. Multi GB games are faster, LibreOffice is much faster. Surely I cannot be alone in this. This app is on its own with this behaviour leading me to believe that the issue is not here.

How do my fellow users fare?

For me it takes under 3 minutes tops under all operating systems I have ever tested. Your system specs are also better than mine. ;)

Older versions took a long time for me on win8 64 bit 4 gb. Newer versions maybe two min.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Version 2.4, Build 5318:

Uninstall: 5 min 10 sec
Install: 5 min 15 sec
Total: 10 min 25 sec

I don't recall much difference between older and current versions; has always been much slower than any other programs I have installed...

Win7/32 4Gb; Core2 Quad; 2x500Gb SATA2 drives (150Gb available on this disc); MS Security Essentials;
A 'clean system', recently reformatted, with few if any junk utilities, etc..

Why the big differences?

I stand corrected on only 1 point . . .

Web Form Builder 2.5 Build 5318

Complete uninstall including deleting all registry entries using Comodo free uninstaller
58 seconds.

Complete installation including verification through Norton
88 seconds

Took a little longer than I thought to install, but still pretty darn quick on my laptop.

Mine was a close estimate as the older version took for ever. I'll installing at this moment and it appears that it's going to be a long install again.

Update: 12:15 :(

It is nice to know I am not alone. It is strange how this is the only CoffeCup app I have that takes its time in this way.

Scott, 3 mins for such a small app is too long IMHO. Try installing something of a similar size like PowerArchiver. It also does an uninstall during the install, but it does not prompt for it...it just does it.

Cheers

If this was a feature that needed to be used over and over, I could see spending time on it. However, since updates are free and it only needs to happen when installing the update, impact on our lives is pretty minimal. ;)

I guess we could invest time in Web Form Builder Pro and make everything just a zip file with no installer. ;)

Got to pipe in here, its the pro verses amateur version question again , I love it
I'm perfectly happy waiting longer each time to instal time to make a coffee
but in the professional world time is money, so Scott can you make a pro version of this and dont forget the pro version of VSD
But leave my amateur versions alone, i dont want the bother of working out how to open, unzip, uninstall, instal, re boot
I like it slow simple and telling me what its doing, asking me if i want to do it, i feel SAFE ;)
