Using an existing database table
I have an existing database. I'm creating a new form to use with this database. I'm changing the field names to my existing field names. But, if I understand correctly what I'm reading, I cannot use my new form that I created with Web Form Builder with an existing database table. Is that correct? Is there a workaround? My database is MySQL hosted with GoDaddy. Thanks.
That would be correct. You will want to use a new table for this. While it may be technically possible to make it work with an existing table, it would require some custom coding for that. Be ready for some work.

Hi Ronald,
Backup you table under a new name. Now delete the original and submit the data with your form and let the form builder create the table again. Now transfer the data back in to the proper position in the newly created table.

Thank you for your replies. Thanks for the suggestion regarding backing up my original table - backups are alway a good idea!
I have today successfully used a draft version of my new form to post data to a new table in my existing database.
So, will a new table be created everytime I click submit? When I make changes to my form, and upload the new, improved version, will a new table be created? Surely not - that be a muliplicity of tables.
Thanks,
Roland

Well, I believe I've answered my questions. I revised my form and uploaded the new version. I inputted some data and clicked submit. I checked my database and there was my data in the same table Form Builder had created recently. Same table, not a new one.
This is cool stuff.
This is cool stuff.
I knew a new table wouldn't get created at each submit. I was only worried that a user might use the same variable name for an input and not get the results expected.
Glad it worked out for you. Yes this is pretty cool. stuff.
