Unfortunately this still breaks all the display rules/conditionals in IE & Chrome, and although it works in Firefox it puts the counter in the top left of screen, outside the form - see attached screenshot.

I'll need either your fb file or a link to your form so I can see what's wrong.

Obviously not enough coffee this morning !!! I'd put the div elements on the page, and the script in the HTML element. Once I put these in the correct places it works as it should on the first html element (the 1100 character box).

On the second one, the counter does not appear. However, if after inserting some text I then return the option back to "Choose one", (which would never happen in a 'real-world' scenario) thus closing the text box I can now see the counter ????
I've tried positioning the html element in different places, all with the same result.

Solved this by changing the display rule on the 2nd element from 'category' IS NOT "Breeders & Others" and is stopped from displaying initially by adding AND ( [category] is_not "" ) to the display rule - by removing the 'AND ( [category] is_not ""'

The only disadvantage now is that if I try to change my selection to 'Breeders ....' after an original choice of anything other than 'Breeders & others' then the counter remains on the form.

Just for info, I solved this by changing the conditionals on the second element from an 'is not' to an 'IS' statement on all the required options - now works perfectly.
