Can anyone recommend a way to prevent a popup form form appearing more than once per user session?

Don't use an auto popup form or use a cookie to control it.
Here's an example using php cookies.

What your session length is will also determine the proper method.

Thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, by auto popup form do you mean any form that displays as a popup or only those forms that popup after a set time? If the "Automatically display form after xx seconds" box is unticked will that resolve the issue?

Yes, Then the form will only pop when the user clicks the link provided by the form builder.
