Hello,
I am trying to work out how I can send a reference to PayPal, if I had a text field that says ref, how can I make that the name of the number field? so it sends it to PayPal.
I ask as I am trying to set up a form that people can pay invoices they are sent, so I wish for them to input there invoice number, and I would like that to be the description next to the amount on PayPal.
I hope I'm not asking a stupid question!
I appreciate anyone's help.

Hi Matt,
Have you enable your Paypal settings in the form builder and selected a Payments option on the properties tab for your item?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi Eric,

Yes, I have everything working as it should, I just want to change the 'name' field to what is entered in another box, so the customer can input their own amount, and then their reference, so in PayPal it is displayed as the description. Currently the description is what ever I labeled the input to be.

Thanks for your help.

How about the "Add Text to Invoice" setting?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Eric,
I have not tried that yet, I thought that once again, it was fixed text, I'm after something that can be changed by the person filling out the form, so everyone will have a different item description as it were.
I'll give it ago later, see what it does!

Thanks Eric.

I have made a little progress, but i'm still struggling,
by putting in the name of the box, like so [number8] in to the 'add text to invoice' it now carries the contents of that box over to the cart summery, however when I click the proceed to Paypal button, it does not take that information across to Paypal, all Paypal shows as a description is [number8], not what was entered into the box number8.

Am i trying to do some thing that cannot be done? its really puzzling.

What your trying to accomplish is not available yet in the form builder but I'm trying to come up with a work around.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Eric,

Have you had time to look at a work around for my problem? I have exhausted my limited knowledge, so I may park the idea until something can be produced.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
