New Form Builder distorting colors

Greetings lovely support team

Love the new form, btw - much more user-friendly layout & options. :)
BUT
Am building contact form for test-website, so don't really want all the hassle of publishing it on a server just yet. But, designing form colors/fonts/etc to complement website branding, and notice when testing locally [using newest version of Coffecup Web Editor] - some of the colors have radically changed from my selections. :o E.G. - border surrounding Comments Box suddenly showing up as Orange. I'd like to eliminate the borders altogether but, if they must be there, I'd like them to be grey. Is there a line of code in the .css that I can change manually?

Same deal for fonts - Heading option seems fine, but Labels not reflecting my chosen options. Wuzzup?

All help greatly appreciated. BIG JUICY THANX. :)
Beth
PS - my coding's getting an inch better, but still a dodo! So please be gentle. :)
PPS - am based in the UK, so prob'ly some time difference - plus today I'll be out a lot. Will definitely be here after 6pm British time.
PPPS - If you want to see Episode 6 of the original Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on YouTube - it's the episode in which I guest star!!! Here is link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBmdkhDGZ8A

Do you have another style sheet linked on the same page. It might be overriding your form.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi Eric - Many thanks for your reply, and, yes, I do have a couple of stylesheets - one, for example, to drive a css version of swap images, but I have adhered to the css rules so that the last stylesheet on the page takes precedence. Also, I've tested the form page on its own testpage without any other stylesheets.

I'd really like the freedom to be able to choose my own color [and other] elements -- and to adjust them for testing locally. I'm guessing there must be some specific codes lines that will allow that - but there are no "comments" to say which parameter relates to which element on the form.

Do you think I need to start every form from scratch without "borrowing" as it were, from any of the Themes included?

Further help MUCH appreciated!
Cheers
Beth

Without a working example to actually look at it's hard to tell what's going on.:)

I looked at it but I don't really know what I'm looking for. There's style sheets missing.

The attach file thingy won't let me upload the folder - too big even with zip. Shall I extract the webform css? Not sure what's going to be helpful.

You're a 'registered user' that means you have a FREE S-Drive account with Coffeecup. Just publish what you have there and post the link here and Eric should be able to look at it. No one outside this group will know the sites live and you can delete it as soon as you're finished.

Well, when I try to do that, I'm told I've exceeded some limit. I thought when I bought the program I was able to control what I do with it. In the long run, I want to be able to adjust simple stuff like the colors, fonts, borders, etc Please forgive me - I'm about as far from being a tekkie as I am from the moon.

Surely, someone here knows the format code for changing something on the fly. Surely I don't have to upload every single time I want to "play" with a different shade, or shape of submit button. I'm trying to learn the stuff I need. I don't want to abuse the invaluable help this forum has provided me over the years.

At this point, I simply don't want to publish my work-in-progress. I'm not even sure I want to publish it at all. I just want to understand why it's not working. What shall I upload here - I only seem to be able to upload a zip file -- it took me a couple of hours just to figure out how to extract the right files for you.

I don't know even a toe-nail of what you do - I only post here when I really need hand-holding.

Can you please tell me how to proceed? Many thanks as always.
Beth

You're posting in the Web Form Builder forum. The WFB will let you adjust text/border/background colors just fine. You don't need to 'edit' anything after the fact. Maybe I'm missing something here ?? You say your colors are changing when you preview the form...is that in WFB, or after you add the form to your site and preview it in your site? If it's in WFB then it shouldn't do that and I'd open a support topic for Coffeecup to look at. If it's after you add the form to your site then Eric is on the right track and some other script or .css file in in conflict and you'll just have to track it down. :P But it's not a problem with the WFB.
