Hi,

When this version of Web Form Builder was first released, one of the good points about about it was that when the form was submitted and a required field had been missed, the form would automatically go to the missed field and highlight it with a message.

This does not now appear to happen.

Is there any reason for this or does it not work if you have an image as a submit button?

Pete.

Hey Pete

I just tried it here and it seems to work just that way. If the field was set to required, it did automatically place the cursor in the first required field.

Hi Scott,

It does'nt work on any of my form although the fields are set to required.

What I meant in the oringinal post was that when the submit button was clicked, if a required question had been missed the form automatically went to that question with it highlighted. This does not now happen on any of the forms.

On that form I just uploaded, it does exactly that. What is the URL to your form?

Hi Scott,

What it does on that form is correct because the form is short and the whole form is on the screen.

If the form is longer and you miss a top question the submit button is not visible until you have scrolled down to it. When you click on it, originally the form went back to the question but now you have to scroll back up the form to find the missed question.

Still works for me in the same manner Pete:

I even made my browser only show 4 fields and when I click submit or hit enter, the focus switches to the appropriate field.

Hi Scott,

Sorry it's a very long form which I think you have seen before.

You have not even upgraded to the latest version though as you are still on 1.2. Looking at your markup though, there are some JavaScript exceptions being generated which could be causing the problem. If you go to the form directly it does work.

Yeah I was going to say something is definitely messed up on your form Pete. First off your submit button is definitely not obvious at all. That dog image is definitely not a submit button even though you have it acting as one, that will confuse most of your users for sure. After pressing it I cannot see that anymore at all it's cutting it off at the bottom which means you've changed something somewhere that is restricting the size of the form (doesn't allow for the error message area) and it pushes the form down to accommodate this, but your form isn't letting it allow that and it's pushing it past your height boundries in some way which I'm going to assume you altered.

Other than that, some of that issue was fixed in the newest release I believe. As Scott mentioned, you're using the older version, get your update that was released yesterday and see if that fixes the issue and also check those settings you changed afterwards if it's still doing that cut off.

As for the popping to the required fields missed, that worked for me fine on your form, just that the submit button isn't visible once you use it. Fix that button to at least say submit on it so people know what that is :) Good luck on it.
