Is it possible to prohibit form users...

Hi. I'm having some difficulties with the results after exporting SQL databases. If a user completes a form with a TEXT FIELD and uses a comma or semicolon, my database usually seems to delete the data after it, including any data in the following fields. Is there a way to disallow the use of any punctuation when completing a form? (other than stating on the form "don't use punctuation") Thanks.

Hi Dave,
I'm sure JQuery can do this. How do you want to handle it? Do you just want to delete them and leave a space? I currently have a form where I automatically insert a space after commas so I'm sure I can alter it to meat any need you have.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Thanks, Eric. Yes, just deleting any punctuation or special characters and leaving a space would work fine. And just to be clear, it appears as though the data from the form is making it to the SQL database just fine. But when I export to a CSV file and then open with Excel, data is lost when taking the "text to columns" step. At least that's the way it looks to me. Thanks again.

Now that I think about it, I'm not 100% sure the data is making it to the CSV file. I'll have to double-check tomorrow when I'm back at work. :-)
