Email not being sent to person...

I have several forms on different sites using this software. All were working fine until recently. In the last several months - any forms that have an email field and that field is set up to send back a notification are showing an error: Your form could not be submitted for the following reason(s): Failed to send an email to "you@youremail.com". The email in the error is the email of the person who has filled out the form. The form contents itself DO get sent correctly to the website/form owner.

I know it's a little confusing but - The form itself gets filled out and I receive the form with no problems into my email. HOWEVER...the form field WITHIN the form for the person filling out the form...cannot be sent properly. The form is supposed to send the contents of the form BACK to the person who just filled out the form...that is what is not being sent...The form that is filled out on the site is being forwarded to ME (the site/form owner) with no problem. Does that make sense?

I have contacted support here - and they keep telling me to go back to my host. I just spend 2 1/2 hours on an online chat with my host and they have tried everything. All the emails are working correctly, SMTP is setup correctly, the error logs are not showing any problems at all. Which to me now makes sense - because MY email is getting sent with no problems - it is the person who is filling out the form...THEIR email is not being sent. It seems that the function within the form builder - to send a notification BACK to the person who filled out the form -- is what is not working correctly. Any of my other forms which do NOT use the function of sending an email back to the person who filled out the form, work with no issues.

Here is the form that having the issues - feel free to try and send a test form, it comes to me directly: https://rodk.net/registration-for-initi … sultation/

Does anyone have any ideas??

My client needed their form working - so I have removed the option for sending an email back to the person filling out the form. The form is now working correctly...as it is.

I would still like to know why this option does not work any longer. If anyone has had this problem and has a solution, I'd really like to know the answer. Support has not been any help with this issue so far.

not sure what your issue might be...check your php...you might have to revert back to a previous version . That feature still works as I made a form last night and I got my email when I did a test.

Good luck and please let us know what you find.

The CC Form builder had its latest update in November '18, so it can't be anything within the programme that has gone off lately. It has to be something else, either with the php version, or maybe something related to a possible transition from http to https? Or something else related to the web host(s), or to the configuration of the form (spaces in file names? upper or lower case?) But I'm no expert here...

Actually it was late last fall when these issues started and this form was updated/changed after the most recent update, so that is a possibility.

I've done a bunch of testing of many of the forms that I use on some of my sites. It seems that any form that needs to use an email field to send a copy of the form results back to the person who filled out the form throws this error. The odd thing is that I have done a few different things to fix it - one of the techs at my hosting company told me to get WP Mail SMTP - which I did and that fixed it for several weeks - and just yesterday it started showing the error again. I know that nothing has changed on the site since yesterday.

have you submitted a trouble ticket to CC? It has to be in your host somewhere if it is not php or related to other specific programming needs. The forms I have all send the email...so it is not the program itself.

I have had an issue with 1and1 hosting before...CC support mentioned that 1and1 is one of the few (if not only) hosts they have issues with. All my forms are with 1and1 except for a couple that reside on S drive. But they all work as intended now.

Keep plugging away and I'm sure you will find it.

I use InMotion and I've been with them for 10 years. All of my sites are with them and all of my sites that use forms, use CC web form builder. This issue just started late last year. I've tried numerous fixes and some things will work for a while and then it starts throwing that same error. I even sent CC my form files and they said everything was set up correctly - it has to be if it works SOME of the time. I can't figure it out.

Seems like an email issue on your host.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
