Auto-Response "To:" dropdown is...
Good morning,
I have built a few forms and all my email notifications are working great BUT when I try to use the "auto-response" option, I am never presented with an option to select a "to:" address. The dropdown is blank eventhough my form does collect the submitter's email address within the form. Am I missing an obvious configuration?? I can edit the text for the "auto-Response" with no issues but that drop-down is always blank and I am not sure what to do for that submitter's email address to come up??
The form works great and is published on my S-Drive...

You need to add an Email Address Element to your form for that drop down list to populate.

Thanks for your reply,
that's just it, I must misunderstand something. My form collects First and Last name, email address, Comments and a submit with a captcha element.
Should it not see the email address element that is already on the form that the submitter is filling out?

Are you sure you are using an Email Address Element? Go to the Properties Tab and make sure it does not say Text Field.

You are correct... I did have it as a text field and noticed that initially. I added the email element and must have deleted the wrong (old text field) from the form... What a dumb mistake. Working great now! Thanks for reminding me about troubleshooting 101 :-)

Even when I drag and drop an email field, the properties still say Text field, so I do not find an address in the to field of the auto response. Would dearly love your help on this.
Just checked as well, that when form is filled in I can type any text into this field, it doesn't have to be an email address, unlike the uk phone field which only accepts proper uk phone numbers.
Sorry to keep adding bits but the number field properties field lets me add letters even though its properties show as a number field. The confirmation message however does show the so called in its message. (I added the email field from the insert data.)
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
