The only way to connect that DVR to your computer is with a TV tuner card and then you need to use a component video (R,B,G) or composite video cable (Y,R,W) or an S-Video cable. You should have some sort of adapter video cable that your TV tuner card came with to do this.

Yes...I think I have all that. So connect my dvr to my tuner card thing-a-ma-jiggy...and then what? Will something pop up on my computer screen?
btw, my tuner card on computer only has a red and white plug but the dvr has red, white & yellow holes/plugs.
Darn insomnia....

Do you have a S-video cable?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Red and white is sound. You need then a Yellow or S-Video cable to get the video.

That black circle input is your S-Video. That you can also use to connect to your TV tuner. What you do then is in you TV tuner, simply launch the software that allows you to watch tv and there should be a way to switch your input.

Pretty sure I don't have an S-video cable thing. Will have to buy one. So I'll need to connect the dvr to my pc with the red and white cable as well as the svideo?
I can't find any tv tuner software on my computer. I think my tv tuner card is something like Hauppauge - I did a search on my entire computer for that and found nothing. Kinda lost on that part. Maybe something in Windows Media?
First thing is to go buy an S-video cable.
Thanks guys!

Correct. No video and you can't really do much.

I am not sure if Windows Media Center has that or not. Never used it before.
