Question on Posts

I have noticed that at the end of most post, there is a thin line and below that people have their web addresses and maybe something about themselves or a little saying. How is that done?

Go to Support --> Your Profile. Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you'll find Forum Information/Signature. Whatever you put in that box will appear the way you describe it under your posts.

Errmm ...

What am I missing here?

At the bottom of the Profile page I see "Facebook Page" and "Twitter Handle"

I refuse to use Facebook following loads of grief with Spam communications (not to mention Facebook terms and conditions), and I don't have the time to devote to Twitter at the moment.

A simple web site address would suffice, but I don't see how to add that.

After the box for the Time Zone you should see a box titled Your Story and then a box titled Forum Information Signature.

Sorry about the confusion, Phil! I meant roughly at the bottom of the page. Being an engineer, I express everything in an approximate sense, like in "two plus two equals approximately four"... ;)
