Good afternoon,

I am doing a complete rework to my site and start converting to grid. Along the way, I would like to correct/rename class names. Is there an easy way to do this in site designer?
Can I
  • Rename tags
  • Copy styles to a new tag

Thanks

You can rename classes, especially if the class only one class name. What you do is deleting the name you don't want, and then without clicking or typing anywhere else, you write in the new name. Remember to change the name at all places where this class has been used.
If a class has more than one name, you need to check which properties is pertaining to which class name. You can find out in the Element pane, in the css part. It is definitely not so easy to change the name in such a case.

I'm not able to properly answer the other question. You can of course reuse classes, but only for the same kind of elements.

Thanks again Inger! I found that out by coincidence. I had copied the styles in an external file and changed the style name in order to apply the styles back... By the time I got back to the GUI, I realised that it had already merged the styles into the new name. Nice feature! I'll have to figure out how to do it for multiple style names. I was not careful about getting rid of the automatically generated styles before making changes when I did the site some years ago.

The site is currently on a testing server https://www.artinso.com/orphelion_testing/. I would appreciate if you could have a brief look and tell me anything that is not right. Some pages use a simple grid on the [BODY] level. There are some sticky headers on the events page and Orbit on the main page. The overlapping text of the orbit changes from background to foreground depending on screen size. It is still work in progress.

I don't see anything wrong. The contents on the About page obviously needs to be centered, but since this it a work in progress, you obviously would have found that yourself, I guess.

If you get stuck with something and want us to look into a problem for you, it would always be best to let us have a look at the source file, either posted here, or sent to someone by mail/dropbox or so.
